Hunter Douglas Blind Parts Near Me: Local or Online?
Hunter Douglas points owners to two places: its online parts store for simple parts, and a local Hunter Douglas dealer, found with its Dealer Locator, for service and warranty work. The only things you are likely to find on a shelf near you today are the batteries, and for a dead motorized shade those are often all you need.
BatteryWands is an independent retailer, not affiliated with Hunter Douglas. We ship genuine battery wands from the US, so this page is written to save you a wasted drive as much as to sell you one.
What can I buy locally today?
Any supermarket, pharmacy or hardware store will have these. Hunter Douglas specifies all of them.
| You need | For | Buy |
|---|---|---|
| 12 AA alkaline | An 18V battery wand | Duracell or Energizer, one brand, all new |
| 8 AA alkaline | A 12V battery wand | Duracell or Energizer, one brand, all new |
| 2 CR2032 coin cells | A PowerView Pebble or Surface remote | Any reputable brand |
| 2 AAA alkaline | An older PowerRise remote | Any reputable brand |
| 16 AA Energizer Ultimate Lithium | Duette or Applause with SkyLift, made after April 2013 | Lithium only for these |
Start there. A shade that crept slower over weeks and then stopped usually needs nothing more than a full set of fresh batteries. If a full matched set changes nothing, the wand itself is the next suspect. The six-symptom check takes two minutes and tells you.
When is a local dealer worth the trip?
- You bought the shades yourself within the last five years. Hunter Douglas's motorized warranty covers battery wands, motors and remotes for the original owner for five years, and it starts with the original dealer. That could cost you nothing.
- The wand is corroded. Hunter Douglas's Legacy PowerView guide says it provides a new wand free of charge for corrosion, and its Gen 3 guide says you may be eligible. Ask before you buy.
- The motor has failed. If the shade hums, clicks or grinds without moving, power is getting through. Motor work means taking the shade down.
- A cordlock blind needs repair. Hunter Douglas says these must be repaired by an Authorized Service Center.
If you inherited the shades with a house, you are not the original owner and the warranty does not transfer. Bought a house with PowerView shades? covers that case.
When does ordering online win?
For a battery wand, almost always. It is a part you fit yourself in two or three minutes with no tools, and the shade keeps its programming. Count the batteries in the old wand, then:
We ship free by UPS Ground, the same business day on orders placed before 3pm Eastern. Delivery usually takes 2 to 3 business days to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, 3 to 4 to the Midwest and Southeast, and 4 to 6 to the Mountain states and West Coast. Details are on shipping.
Brackets, tassels, cord parts and valance clips come from Hunter Douglas's own parts store, which adds its own shipping and handling charge. The full list of what owners can order is on Hunter Douglas replacement parts, and the small single-job kits are on Hunter Douglas blind repair kit.
Questions people also ask
What should I take to a Hunter Douglas dealer?
The old battery wand, a photo of the sticker inside the headrail, the battery count, and your purchase date if you have it. That is enough for a dealer to identify the shade and check warranty.
How do I find a Hunter Douglas dealer near me?
Use the Dealer Locator on the Hunter Douglas website, or start a chat at help.hunterdouglas.com. If you know who installed your shades, go back to them first; Hunter Douglas routes warranty service through the original dealer.
Is it worth paying for a service call to replace batteries?
Rarely. A trip charge for a job you can do yourself in two minutes is money you do not need to spend. What Hunter Douglas repairs cost explains when a call is worth it.
Which battery wand do I need?
Count the batteries in the old one. Twelve means the 18V wand, part 7520068000; eight means the 12V wand, part 7520069000. The batteries guide explains why all twelve or all eight must be new and the same brand.
