Hunter Douglas Battery Wand Part Numbers Explained
There are only two battery wand part numbers you are likely to need, and the difference between them is the number of batteries they hold. Everything else is detail.
What is part 7520068000?
The 18V battery wand. It holds twelve AA batteries and fits the current motorized range — PowerView and the Platinum system before it.
This is the current production version, the one with a fuse in the end cap. That fuse is what stops a single battery going in backwards from shorting the wand out, and it is the reason this part supersedes every earlier 18V wand. If your shade originally came with an older version, this is still the correct replacement.
What is part 7520069000?
The 12V battery wand. It holds eight AA batteries and fits older PowerRise 1.0 headrails.
It is not a cheaper or smaller version of the 18V wand — it is a different part for a different system. The two are not interchangeable and the wrong one will not seat in the bracket.
Which part number do I need?
Count the batteries in the old wand. Twelve means 7520068000. Eight means 7520069000.
That single check settles it on a shade of any age, which is more than the shade line does — several Hunter Douglas lines were built across the changeover and exist with either system. If you would rather start from the name on your headrail sticker, our compatibility list covers every line.
The number on my wand does not match either of these
That is normal, and it is usually fine.
Hunter Douglas revised these wands more than once, and a shade that has been on a wall for fifteen years may carry a number that has since been superseded. The current parts replace the older ones. The battery count, not the printed number, is what tells you which of the two current wands to buy.
If the number on yours is close but not identical — a digit or two different — count the batteries and go with that.
The label has worn off completely
Then ignore it. A wand that has sat above a sunny window for two decades, or that has had alkaline batteries leak inside it, has often lost its printing altogether.
Slide the wand out, count the battery channels inside, and order on that. Nothing about the printed number changes which part fits.
Do the other parts have part numbers?
No. Neither the battery tube conversion kit nor the 13 inch power cable carries a printed manufacturer number, so there is nothing to match. Both are PowerRise parts — if you counted twelve batteries, neither applies to your shade.
