Which battery wand fits my Hunter Douglas shade?
Count the AA batteries in your old wand. That settles it on nearly every shade, even when the label has worn off.
- Twelve AA → the 18V wand, part 7520068000
- Eight AA → the 12V wand, part 7520069000
The one exception is a Pirouette 18 to 23 inches wide, which takes a different eight-cell part that we do not stock. More on that below.
Hunter Douglas fits the same two wands across nearly its entire motorized range, so the question is almost always which of the two. Which Hunter Douglas battery wand do I need?
The 18V wand, part 7520068000, with twelve AA batteries, is for any headrail built for twelve cells: Provenance, Designer Roller and Banded, Pirouette over 23 inches wide, and the twelve-cell versions of Duette, Applause, Silhouette and Vignette. The 12V wand, part 7520069000, with eight AA batteries, is for any headrail built for eight cells: Duette, Applause, Silhouette and Vignette with eight AA, Parkland and EverWood blinds from 2018, Palm Beach shutters, and most PowerRise 1.0 shades. Count the batteries in the old wand: twelve means 18V, eight means 12V.
Pirouette is the exception. Hunter Douglas splits that line by width, not by cell count: 18 to 23 inches wide takes part 7520073000, which we do not stock, and over 23 inches takes the 18V wand. Measure before you order.
