Battery wand for Duette Vertiglide

The answer

The 18V wand, part 7520068000. It takes twelve AA batteries.

This is the current production version, the one with a fuse in the end cap that stops a reversed battery shorting the wand out. It supersedes every earlier wand used on this line, so it is the right part whatever age your shade is.

What this shade is

Vertiglide is Duette honeycomb fabric running sideways along a track instead of up and down - the answer for patio doors and wide openings.

Where the wand sits

The headrail is the track across the top and the wand sits at one end of it. You are looking along the width, not up into a stack.

How these fail

A Vertiglide drags its whole width along a track rather than lifting against gravity, so friction matters more than weight. A shade that judders or stops mid-run is often a dirty track, not a dying wand - clean it before you buy.

Is it definitely the wand?

Not every dead shade is a dead wand - travel limits, a lost remote pairing and tired batteries all look the same from across the room. Our six-symptom check sorts them out in a couple of minutes, and it will talk you out of the purchase where it should.
