Battery wand for Silhouette Window Shadings
The answer
The 18V wand, part 7520068000. It takes twelve AA batteries.
This is the current production version, the one with a fuse in the end cap that stops a reversed battery shorting the wand out. It supersedes every earlier wand used on this line, so it is the right part whatever age your shade is.
What this shade is
Silhouette suspends fabric vanes between two sheer facings, so the vanes tilt to aim daylight rather than simply blocking it. The motor does two jobs: it raises the shade and it rotates the vanes.
Where the wand sits
The wand mounts inside the headrail above the roller. The sheer facing is delicate - support the shade rather than letting it hang while you work.
How these fail
Because the motor does two jobs, a dying wand on a Silhouette usually shows first as vanes that will not hold their tilt, days or weeks before the shade stops lifting at all. That is the early warning worth acting on.
Is it definitely the wand?
