Which battery wand fits a Pirouette?
It depends on the width, not the battery count. Pirouette is the one line Hunter Douglas splits by size rather than by automation generation, and the two wands involved hold different numbers of cells — so counting batteries will point half of these shades at the wrong part. Measure the shade instead:
- Wider than 23 inches — the 18V wand, part 7520068000, twelve AA batteries
- 18 to 23 inches — part 7520073000, an eight-cell 12V wand. We do not stock this one, and our 12V wand is a different part despite also taking eight batteries
They are not interchangeable: the wrong one will not run the shade.
What is a Pirouette?
Pirouette has fabric vanes fixed to a single sheer backing. As the shade lowers, the vanes unfurl and open like a row of small awnings.
Where is the battery wand in a Pirouette headrail?
The wand sits in the headrail above the roller, same as a Silhouette.
Anything to be careful of on a Pirouette?
The vanes are fixed to a single sheer backing and will not survive being pushed back by hand. Raise the shade so they furl before you reach into the rail.
How does a Pirouette battery wand fail?
Pirouette is the one line where the width, not the cell count, decides the wand, so this is the one to measure rather than assume. Ordering on the assumption it matches your other shades is the most common mistake we see.
What do people get wrong on a Pirouette?
Ordering to match another Pirouette in the same house. Two Pirouettes of different widths may genuinely take different wands, even if they were bought together.
Will the conversion kit or the power cable fit a Pirouette?
We cannot confirm it for this line. The conversion kit and the 13 inch power cable belong to an eight-cell PowerRise-era headrail. A Pirouette over 23 inches takes the twelve-cell 18V wand, where neither fits. A narrow Pirouette takes part 7520073000, a different eight-cell wand that we do not stock and have not checked either part against, so email a photo of the headrail sticker before ordering.
